For its Fall-Winter 2025/2026 fashion show, Prada experiments with new shapes, playing on the contrasts between raw aesthetics and sophisticated touches. The first looks on the house’s runway at Milan Fashion Week initiate a reflection on the dress, questioning its shape and construction. The show opens with four black knee-length dresses. The first has large buttons. The second is characterised by a wide collar and seems vaguely inspired by the 1960s. But all are extremely minimalist. The hems are left visible, unfinished. The proportions are altered, changing the way the clothes behave and their relationship with the body. The materials used are also unconventional.
The house explains: “Detached from their primary function, fragments of garments move freely on the body, freed from their original function and language. Unrecognisable, they push us to question their origin. With each movement, their meaning is transformed, giving birth to new silhouettes shaped by their interactions.”Accessories—such as jewellery, bags, bows, and ornaments—enhance a series of raw clothing. They infuse them with character and give the silhouettes an identity. A contrast between minimalism and ornamentation, highlighted by the designer duo, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, this season.

The choice of the show location—the Prada Foundation warehouse—illustrated this duality. Between raw and refined, structure and ornament, the space mirrored the spirit of the collection. Metal scaffolding redefined the location, while a blue carpet by Catherine Martin softened the austerity.
