How do you dress to go to Sanremo? For years, a seemingly trivial question has seen dozens of different answers given by just as many artists. For some, the Ariston means elegance, for others provocation, while for Olly the answer seems to be perfectly halfway. From his first appearance on the Green Carpet, the artist of Balorda Nostalgia has made things clear, making us understand that there was nothing casual in the creative marriage with Emporio Armani and stylist Lorenzo Oddo. The looks created by the brand for Olly are the result of the fusion of Emporio’s historic DNA with the artist’s personality, a union of intent that, let’s face it, has definitely raised the level of style at the Ariston.

On the Green Carpet, the inaugural event in which the competing artists parade a bit like models in a fashion week, Olly and Emporio Armani had chosen to debut with a game of multilayering based on an interweaving of textures and colors. In that case, the protagonist of the look was the splendid camel-colored mohair wool coat, paired with a gray melange sweatshirt and two tank tops layered on top of each other. The whole thing was completed by wool trousers worked with a micro design, inspired by the Emporio Armani Fall/Winter 2025 collection for a result that we could define as elevated casual. It’s Olly, but there’s also the hand of the Milanese brand.

Over the course of the evenings, things haven’t changed. In fact, they’ve only gotten better. On Tuesday evening, the Genoese artist wore a black jacquard vest with a leopard lamé pattern and palazzo jeans covered in a pavé of transparent rhinestones that revealed the denim treated for a vintage effect. For the second evening, Emporio Armani had really gone all out with what remains to this day one of the best looks seen at the Ariston: a black jacquard knitted cardigan with a leopard pattern in lurex thread, a double ribbed tank top and palazzo trousers in black wool that gave the look movement and elegance. For the evening of duets, however, Olly and Emporio had chosen a more rock look consisting of a short jacket, a tank top and wide trousers with pleats. In case anyone hadn’t figured it out yet, Olly is a big fan of tank tops.

Given the premises, expectations for the last look were definitely high. Do you think they were met? Of course they were. For the final evening Olly and Emporio Armani reinvented the tuxedo, giving up the jacket and leaving room for a light blue silk satin shirt worn unbuttoned to reveal, of course, a ribbed tank top. Palazzo trousers with a side band and cummerbund completed the look. Now that the work is finished, you can admire it in all its beauty. In the meantime, we’re starting to try to replicate the looks.
